When you have undergone any tests or investigations and are awaiting test results allow:

Blood 3 days – some will take longer
Urine 2 days
Swab 7 days
X-Ray 7-10 days
Smear You will be advised of the timescale for results

The GP’s/Clinicians will not contact you if your investigations/blood test results are normal, you can view your results online using the NHS App.

If the tests or investigations have been requested by another service i.e the hospital, the result will be sent back to that department, please contact them for the results.

Please leave specimens at reception before 12 noon with a completed form or slip given from reception. You must include detail of symptoms to allow us to treat accordingly.

If you think you have a urine infection, please contact your local pharmacy who will be able to help, the pharmacy can treat women aged between 16 and 64 who are not pregnant and have typical UTI symptoms, if you do not fit this criteria, you need to contact the surgery to arrange an appointment with a clinician. The surgery can only accept urine samples that have been requested by a clinician.
