Good Morning
As some of you may have noticed already there is now a new keypad to the left of the front door, this is replacing the old intercom system which some of you struggled with due to where it was situated etc. When you come to the surgery now, you will always have to ring the buzzer (press the “bell” button) and wait for reception to press to unlock the door. We hope everyone understands this has been a necessary precaution due to Covid-19 recommendations for safe practice. Your safety as well as the surgery staff is paramount, it may feel a bit like we are losing the community feel to the practice but with these uncertain times its important that we can try and maintain social distancing where possible. In order for us to do this we need to continue with prescriptions being ordered online (this will not revert back), patients will not be able to come into the practice and fill in slips as they once did previously. We will look to getting everyone online access over the next few months to allow you to order your repeats directly. For the elderly with no one to do it on their behalf we will continue taking their request over the phone during the pandemic but will eventually try to make arrangements with the pharmacy to request on their behalf every month. With such a small practice, unfortunately we have to put these measures in place to reduce risk. The final thing we need to change over the next few weeks is prescription’s being put through the letterbox at the surgery. Im sure you will understand this isn’t ideal, so going forward we will be asking these patients to use online access or contact the pharmacy to arrange setting up managed repeats. Im sure you can appreciate how busy the pharmacy is at this time also, so it would be much appreciated if you could leave this system for the elderly or those who cannot access online. The same will apply to making appointments, please don’t come to the surgery to do this, we ask that you contact us by telephone for anything that you need.
Thank you
