Covid-19 update 20/3/20

Posted on March 20th, 2020

Good Afternoon 20/03/2020 update

As promised please see below update from Willaston Surgery, we will continue to update as much as possible going forward

GP appointments: All GP appointments in the surgery are now telephone triage only unless instructed otherwise by a clinician you have spoken to. These will also be urgent appointments for patients who are acutely unwell. If your pre booked appointment is not deemed urgent at this time then please contact us to cancel either via email or telephone. We will try to contact patients to cancel pre booked appointments as we go along but it would be a huge help if you can cancel it before hand.

Blood Appointments: only ESSENTIAL bloods will continue in the surgery, all other appointments have been cancelled as of now

B12 appointments will continue for the time being

Prescriptions please to be ordered via email to wcccg.willastonsurgery@nhs.net or online access if you have it. If your online access is not working please refrain from emailing the surgery as we are operating with limited staff and this is not priority, you are welcome to email your script request. If you do not have internet access and can only hand deliver your script please put it through the surgery letterbox. We would ask where possible to reduce the mount of paper scripts, you can also telephone the practice and order your script if you are finding it difficult to use the other methods but this should be a last resort. We are doing our best to ensure that no ones goes without their medications so giving as many options as are possible at this time.

Nurse appointments are all cancelled over the next couple of weeks, if you feel you have an acute issue please contact the surgery. We would reiterate that only acute problems are being dealt with at this time. If you are booked in for baby immunisations please contact the surgery so we can inform you of alternative arrangements in place.

Patients are not permitted to enter the surgery unless invited by a clinician. The front door has now been locked to reduce risk to us and yourselves. If you need to gain entry for an appointment please ring the buzzer located on the wall underneath the waiting room window (just before you approach the front door). A member of staff will speak to via the intercom.

The surgery have taken the decision to close for the next few weekends to limit risk, this decision was not easy but we feel it is in the best interest of everyone at this difficult time. If you require any urgent treatment whilst the surgery is closed please contact NHS 111 or look online at their website for advice. If you have a life threatening medical emergency please dial 999.

We continue to thank all our patients for their understanding and if anyone is struggling in anyway should it be shopping or getting medications etc please please get in touch with us and we will try and arrange something for you, we do not want to see anyone left in a vulnerable position at this time. We hope everyone is following guidelines and isolating where possible/necessary and adhering to social distance. Please everyone try to stay safe as possible.

Thank you
Willaston Surgery
