Good Afternoon
So as promised a quick update on Dr Hassan, thankfully he has been discharged from hospital to continue his recovery at home. He is still quite poorly so will be using this time to rest and hopefully in a few weeks will be able to rejoin the team again. He sends his sincere thanks to each and every one of you that sent best wishes, prayers and cards, it was very much appreciated.
We have received further guidance regarding shielding letters, so in addition to those that have already received a letter, the surgery staff have been working round the clock going through hundreds of records to ensure everyone that should will now receive one. The additional letters are being posted this week we have been informed. Please refrain from contacting the surgery about this where possible to reduce the volume of calls coming through.
Once again, we would like to also extend our thanks to all of our patients, without you all being so understanding and following the guidelines we wouldn’t get through this as well as we are. It is our aim to keep the surgery functioning for as long as possible, so we really do thank you.
Telephone appointments will continue for acutely ill patients as before, we do also offer video consultations where necessary. Only essential bloods such as INR and methotrexate are being done in the practice to reduce risk. The majority of B12 patients are being changed to an oral medication as a temporary measure, we appreciate your understanding with this. If you are due a B12 injection then contact us so we can arrange this for you.
Emails will continue only to be for repeat prescriptions and cancellation of telephone appointments, we are still receiving a large amount of queries via email which we can no longer deal with due to the volume, we would ask that all patients ring the surgery on 0151 327 4593 regarding any queries.
We will endeavour to keep you updated as much as possible, things are changing daily within the Practice so be assured we are all doing our best to continue on as best we can.
We have a list of volunteers, so if anyone needs any help with anything please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
PS we hope everyone (if you are able) will be out clapping for the NHS/Carers/Key workers tomorrow evening at 8pm – perhaps a couple of you could post your video on the Willaston Residents and countryside society facebook page – the staff enjoy watching them, it brightens up their day a little and certainly offers encouragement to the GP’s
