Following on from the latest news of Great Sutton Medical Centre in Ellesmere port closing until further notice in connection with the virus…..
If in the unlikely event Willaston Surgery should need to temporarily close please follow the instructions below:
PRESCRIPTIONS:
Please order as usual via patient access/ surgery email wcccg.willastonsurgery@nhs.net or the local pharmacy (please allow slightly longer than the usual 48hour turn around due to working conditions)but these will still be processed. If you have a paper prescription please post through the surgery letterbox.
If you have run out of a medication and it is URGENT please ring 111 who should be able to issue a temporary supply on prescription, you can also ask your local pharmacy if they can lend you enough until the surgery can process your prescription
Please only ask the pharmacy and NHS 111 in urgent cases
APPOINTMENTS:
Obviously if the surgery is closed we will not be able to offer face to face appointments, however, unless instructed otherwise the phone lines will remain open (if this changes you will be informed). We should be able to offer telephone appointments with the GP, again if this changes and we cannot facilitate this, you can:
Ring 111, visit Walk In Centres based in Eastham and Arrow Park or ring extended hours service on 0300 123 7743 who offer routine GP appointments, nurse appointments, phlebotomy appointments and physio appointments after 6.30pm each evening in various locations.
To avoid this happening, we would ask that ALL patients please use the hand santizers in the surgery. ANYONE who has travelled recently please contact the surgery by telephone in the first instance for advice before attending if you are in any doubt, please do not put others at risk by attending the surgery in person if you feel you may be at risk.

Please DO NOT visit other local surgeries and ask to be seen or ask them to process prescriptions for you as this will be temporary and there are measures in place (see above) for those who are urgent. We appreciate your co operation over the next few months trying to manage these cases, please spare a thought for the NHS staff who are working tirelessly trying to continue to provide services for you, please do not abuse the services or the staff who are there to help you. Willaston is a fantastic community who do all pull together in times like this and we thank you sincerely.
